About Alex
Bio
Born in Chicago, IL but raised in Phoenix, AZ. I grew up wanting to be an architect (went to CU-Boulder for it) – but slowly realized I didn't want to design physical spaces so I graduated with a degree in Economics (sigh).
Currently
I'm working at Lulu and Georgia where I'm leading an end-to-end web redesign of their e-commerce shopping experience.
What I used to do
At 22 I moved to San Francisco to start my career in tech. Fell into sales and started problem-solving for customers at companies like GitHub. In that time, I fell back in love with great design while developing other strengths in parallel: negotiating with stakeholders, communicating value, how to work well in agile environments. After the better part of a decade, I discovered what I really enjoyed - collaborating on design and product strategy (funny how life works out that way) and working with technology teams.
More on what I'm doing now
Currently I help design new ways to shop for home decor and furniture at Lulu and Georgia. Specifically a complete redesign of the company's e-commerce experience including but not limited to: navigation, PDP, collection pages, home and cart. I lean more right-brain, but have grown to love analytical and research-based work, of which I'm grateful to have had a background in both sales and design. My origin story is a different than most – a mixture of communication, problem-solving, customer-facing skills meshed together with human-centered design principles -  a unique recipe for designing experiences that simplify processes, are customer-focused and drive revenue. When I'm not working, you can probably find me tinkering on other projects or going for my daily run at the beach with my wife Chrissy, daughters Violet & Naomi, and pup Cruz.
